with USIM kids!

alhamdulillah!

i got a part time USIM job. I am so glad. thanks so much to my boo- izyanie khazali! my friend’s an angel! she and i are both on the look out for more part time jobs.

Working part time like this really has some perks. we work almost everyday but we dont have to be at the premise throughout like the other permanent staff. we come for our classes and then we leave when we are done with our classes.

we also dont really have to attend meetings or join workshops or prepare anything. it really is liberating! haha!

there are some downsides to it though and the downsides to it are pretty painful.here are some that i have so far gathered:

  1. we do not have pension benefits, insurance benefits etc.
  2. we are not guaranteed of any jobs after the current job(s) is completed.
  3. jobs are seasonal

lots of discipline is required if we are to survive on a life choice like this. it is hard and frightening most of the time. but here’s where our iman will be tested. our dependence has to be on our creator and ill be the first to tell you that to mentally shift to this realization is not easy and is not something that is permanent. it always seems that for all the good things that are coming our way (getting jobs) its as though we earned it out of our own effort. most of the time we have been told of this which is true, but it wouldnt materialize if it hadnt been through Allah’s permission.

money is tight and then there is money for our retirement. alhamdulilah, EPF has allowed people who work on their own to make deductions for their retirement savings.

then there is money for mine and seths everyday needs. this is a little tricky because there are days when you feel like eating out and then there are days when you eat in. then there are days where you feel like snacking and then there are days where you want to go out. its just money money money 😦

as much as i like the freedom that comes with freelancing like this, i get sad when i think about money and our survival for the coming days. there is help out there, but do we really want to be a burden? its a little complicated to answer isnt it?

so anyway, ill leave that bit to here. below are pictures of my current USIM students. May Allah bless them and may Allah continue to provide inspiration and strength for me to work. amin.

Goodbye..

saying goodbye is really the hardest thing.

but my two weeks stint at UIA Gombak has finally come to an end. I am so grateful and happy to be part of these students lives even if it was for a very short time. I am so happy to know them, even if 3/4 of the class do not come to class.. hehe. I am just glad that these bunch do turn up and try hard to be cooperative as i am just a substitute- a sudden one!

here are the pictures for the future!

alhamdulillah for this opportunity! alhamdulilah!

I hope I will still be part of the part timers team in ELD CELPAD.
